Dear gentle reader…haha, just kidding! You know what I watched this week. Anyway, the right beauty products can make all the difference in your beauty routine, so I’m going over new beauty products I picked up for summer. I have a trio of beauty items that I recently picked up: the e.l.f. Cosmetics Suntouchable All Set for Sun SPF 45, the Patrick Ta Major Glow Crème & Powder Light Reflecting Translucent Highlighter Duo, and the e.l.f. Soft Glam Foundation. Each of these products has different benefits and challenges, because the right products can make all the difference in your summer beauty routine.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Suntouchable All Set for Sun SPF 45

I tried the e.l.f. Cosmetics Suntouchable All Set for Sun SPF 45. It’s a setting spray with a weightless formula that doesn’t leave a white cast, which I love. It’s a new beauty product in a clear spray that set’s your makeup for all day wear with a recommended time of re-spraying every two hours.

The ingredients include bisabolol, watermelon fruit extract, prickly pear seed oil. It’s fragrant free (my favorite part), completely vegan, and cruelty free. I put it on 15 minutes before I went out as instructed, and waited for it to dry. It didn’t feel dewey or matte, just a regular settings spray. I was worried it would make me too oily, but after six hours, I had my usual level of oiliness on my face. I don’t think the SPF spray caused it, because it’s what I usually look like. I’d say it’s oily skin approved.

I really like the convenience of it, because it fits in my small purse. Especially since it’s recommended to respray every few hours, I also sprayed it on my chest, and didn’t have any breakouts or affects from it. And definitely carrying this around the summer season.

Patrick Ta Major Glow Crème & Powder Light Reflecting Translucent Highlighter Duo

The Patrick Ta Major Glow Crème & Powder Light Reflecting Translucent Highlighter Duo is a translucent cream and powder that gives you glass-like skin. It contains multifaceted pearls for a dewey glow, and it also includes Moringa and Shea butter. This highlighter is meant to make your skin have a smooth finish, and I definitely think it did on my skin.

I bought the shade Honey, which is meant for darker skin tones in order to try it out as a bronzer, because I thought it would look perfect for summer. I know a lot of people aren’t as crazy about this as the blush. It’s not supposed to be a wet-looking highlighter or have a lot of pigment, but I was still surprised by the shimmer it had. I thought it would be more subtle, but for $40 it gives that in between glowy and high shine look.

I’ve been trying new beauty products of my comfort zone. Normally I would choose the shades Baby or Daddy, but Honey looked so rich and beautiful. I’m definitely glad I made that choice. If I wanted to use it as a highlighter, I would just lightly use the powder, but if I wanted to bronze my skin I would use both the powder and cream.

e.l.f. Soft Glam Foundation

Eh…it’s ok

The e.l.f. Soft Glam is a new beauty foundation that’s a buildable medium coverage, smooth satin finish in 36 different shades. It’s a breathable foundation with 1% Hydrating Hibiscus Complex that is non-pore clogging that doesn’t look and feel cakey.

The foundation was too light for my skin. It’s hard to choose the right color with drugstore foundation, because there is no tester. It was also very streaky putting it on. I know it says, medium buildable coverage, but I think it was light medium at best.

It is light and breathable like they claim, but the coverage is not buildable. I like full coverage because of my oily skin and texture, but this new beauty isn’t going to give you that. It looked and felt more like a tinted moisturizer. It didn’t cover my nose either, which isn’t uncommon to get products on my nose already, but I think because it’s a lighter formula it wasn’t pigmented enough to cover my red nose.

It’s okay. I also heard it’s just a reformulated version of the satin foundation they already have in a bottle. I don’t know if that’s true or not, because I never tried it. It’s not amazing or terrible, but I own a lot of drugstore foundations that work way better on me. This is definitely for people who like light coverage, especially in the summer. I think it would look really good for that.

Conclusion

These three beauty products each bring something different. The e.l.f. Cosmetics Suntouchable All Set for Sun SPF 45 is convenient as a setting spray and sunscreen with SPF. The Patrick Ta Major Glow Highlighter Duo is not meant to be a blinding highlighter, so if that’s what you’re after, then this isn’t for you. It has a dewy, light sheen to give you a slight glow. The e.l.f. Soft Glam Foundation with its breathable formula more meant for as a tinted sunscreen even though it claims it has medium coverage. All three new beauty products are meant for a light and dewy summer, so expect light coverage that’s more for a day at the beach.
