Let’s Talk About The Best Fall Blushes and New Highlighters

Recently, I’ve been testing some new blushes, highlighters, and palettes from a few popular brands, and I’m here to share my thoughts. One of the first products I tried was the new Fenty Beauty Cheeks Suede Waterproof Powder Blush in the shade Drama Cla$$. I also tried the Michoacán blush palette from Metamorphosis, and I instantly fell in love with the rich, earthy tones. I tried the Natasha Denona Pastel Plexi Glow Highlighter, which i was really excited about, but did it live up to my expectations? Read the following honest reviews to find out.

Fenty Beauty Cheeks Suede Waterproof Powder Blush

The new Fenty Beauty Cheeks Suede Waterproof Powder Blush in Drama Cla$$ is one of two shimmer shades that’s supposed to be waterproof, and sweat and humidity resistant. I love the original cream version that I still use, so obviously I had to get in the powder formula to try. ☺️ Though it is becoming a little dry, so this was perfect timing.

I added the cream version on one the right side of my video to see how well it layered with the powder. The cream version looks a little bit more berry on me, but the shimmer powder is slightly lighter. I don’t know if it’s because of the shimmer that makes it that way, but adding both the cream and the powder definitely made it look more purple.

The cheek on the left side of my video is just the blush powder. It was lighter at first so it looked more pinkish, but after a few more layers it looked very similar, if not the same as the cheek with the cream version.

I prefer applying powder because it’s easier on me, so I’m really excited to have it in a new formula. Especially with fall right around the corner. 🌾🌻🍁🍎

Michoacán Blush Palette by Metamorphosis

The Michoacán Blush Palette by Metamorphosis is the sister of the viral Conchita Blush Palette. I absolutely love all of the orange colors, and it’s going to look great for fall. The Conchita palette is pink and purple, so I really like the orange and brown shades in this one. All I could think about when I saw it was how perfect it is for autumn. 🍂

Ignore the big gouge I did with my fingernail as soon as I opened it. It really dug in deep, and of course it was the color I wanted to use. I wanted to play around with the brown shades as a contour or a bronzer, but I already put on the shade Congos, and I didn’t want to take a chance of screwing it up 😆 so I definitely need to play around with it.

Natasha Denona Pastel Plexi Glow Highlighter

The Natasha Denona Pastel Plexi Glow Highlighter has a drop technology that puts two pastel colors in an ivory base for a pearlescent glow. The photos show an ombré effect with pink in one corner and a minty green in the adjacent corner. I was disappointed, because it looks nothing like the online picture.

You can see a very small hint of pink if you turn it a certain way in the light. But there was no green to be seen. I did everything except put it under a microscope to find it, and it’s not there. The look is mainly why I bought it. It looked different from regular highlighters, and I was excited to have something different.

I applied the pink color on the left side of my Instagram video, and the “green” on the right side. There’s no difference. It’s just a gold highlighter. It does show less texture on my skin compared to the Benefit highlighter, which I love. But is it worth $44? Eh, not really. There’s a lot of great drugstore highlighters that will look the same.

I’m gonna stick to ND eyeshadow palettes.

Conclusion

The Fenty Beauty Cheeks Suede Waterproof Powder Blush in Drama Cla$$ was a hit for me. It had a beautiful shimmer shade that layered well over the original cream formula, and gave my cheeks a pop of purple. I know I’ll be reaching for it a lot, especially with fall coming up. The new Michoacán blush palette from Metamorphosis was another fall makeup find. The rich orange and brown shades made me fantasize about all the fall looks I want to create, and I can’t wait to experiment more with them. The Natasha Denona Pastel Plexi Glow Highlighter was a bit of a letdown. Instead of the pink and green shades I was expecting, it just looked like a regular gold highlighter on my skin. I think there’s more affordable options available that look very similar.
