Hi beauties! Recently, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and test out a couple of new makeup products: the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint & High Beam Jelly Donut 2pc Set and the Easy Blur Foundation by Huda Beauty. As someone who usually sticks to powder makeup, this was a bit of a challenge for me. The Jelly Donut Set from Benefit caught my eye immediately because, let’s face it, anything named after a donut is hard to resist. Next, I tested out Easy Blur Foundation from Huda Beauty. As someone with oily skin, I was curious to see how well it would hold up throughout the day. So how did these products hold up? Find out below!

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint & High Beam Jelly Donut 2pc Set

I’ve never owned Benetint before, because I usually stay away from liquid makeup (except foundation). It’s harder for me to hold, and you have to apply it more precisely. Both things I’m not good at. Powder and brushes are easy for me, but I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone.

Plus, it’s called jelly donut. 🍩 Benefit knew what they were doing.

Was it as hard as I thought it would be? Yes, haha. I dropped High Beam before I could even apply it. Apparently I’m also not good at creating a circle. It’s very pretty, and I loved how it looked on my skin. But did I spill Benetint? Also yes. I don’t think it’s made for my hands. Or my hands weren’t made for Benetint.

I’ll stick to my favorite Benefit powder products. Besides, I can’t just abandon Cookie 🍪 What kind of full glam makeup mother would I be?

Easy Blur Foundation by Huda Beauty

I’m testing The Easy Blur Foundation by Huda Beauty in the shade creme brulee. It has 1.5% Niacimimide, and it’s supposed to be weightless, light, and comfortable with an air brush finish. Before I begin, I have to talk about setting powder. My holy grail was Beauty Bakerie flour powder, but they shut down (RIP). It would keep me matte for at least 12 hours a day. I’ve been testing others, but I haven’t found anything similar yet.

So does it blur? No, but to be fair blurring products have never worked on my skin. Maybe it’s too textured, BUT I do think it makes my skin look smoother. I started to get oily about 2 hours later, but it wasn’t a lot. I was hoping to stay matte longer, but I’ve had worse experiences with other foundations. By the end of the day I was oily though.

However, I think I need to find the right setting powder. I don’t think anything is going to keep me matte until I find the right one.

That being said, I think it was okay. It wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t bad either. Someone compared it to the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drops, and I think they’re right. I have the same experience with it. Not my favorite, but not bad either. I still love both brands, and own a lot of makeup by both of them though.

Conclusion

The Benefit Jelly Donut Set added a nice glow, but the liquid formula was tough for me to handle. The Huda Beauty foundation gave me a smoother appearance. Unfortunately, I started getting oily after about two hours, which was a bit disappointing. By the end of the day, my face was shinier than I had hoped, but I know that finding the right setting powder could make a big difference. Even when things don’t go perfectly, tying new makeup helps you learn more about what you prefer, and what makes you feel confident.
