Hi beauties! Let’s talk about what I tried this week; The Patrick Ta Barbie collection has captured my heart. The blush is a beautiful fuchsia pink that’s as bright as it looks. I couldn’t resist trying something else: the new CoverGirl Halloween lip stains. I’ve tried them before and wasn’t impressed. For last, I tried the Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb Swirl Twisted Lip Luminizer in Fu$$y Flex. It’s a pretty light pink and fuchsia that reminds me of a candy cane

The Patrick Ta Barbie Collection

The Patrick Ta Barbie collection comes with a blush called, She’s A Barbie Doll, and a lipgloss, Malibu Dreamhouse. The blush is a very vibrant and pink, and it’s as pigmented as it looks. The pink lipgloss, Malibu Dreamhouse, has a plumping effect, is non-sticky, and has peptides to smooth and plump your lips.

She was everything I thought she’d be and more. I really don’t want to use a brush and mess up the Barbie emblem on the powder blush. I put the cream blush on first, because that’s the way Patrick does it, so why not! Both the crème and powder are very easy and effortless to put on, and extremely pigmented.

I could tell right away it was going to be very bright, so once I put the crème blush on I barely dipped my brush in it (on the side of course, I didn’t want to ruin Barbie‘s head). I still had to tone the powder down a bit, even though I barely tapped it, because It’s a true fuchsia. It comes on the way it looks.

Next, I used my NYX retractable lip liner in hot pink (a perfect match for the lipgloss BTW), and added Malibu Dreamhouse on top. She’s a little tingly and minty, if you have any sensory issues, but it’s not overwhelming.

Oh, and she smells like a frozen strawberry daiquiri. 🤣 I’m not even kidding, it’s all I think about when I open it up. It has a very beautiful shimmer, but not overpowering. You can definitely see it in the light, and it looks gorgeous.

I decided at the last minute to put the powder blush on my lids, and I definitely don’t regret that decision. It’s beautiful! It’s the best hot pink color I own

I’ll buy anything Barbie for the rest of my life. I have no shame. ☺️

CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stain

The color got me 🦇

I tried the CoverGirl lip stains a while ago when they re-released them, and I wasn’t crazy about them. They were very patchy. But they just had to make a Halloween limited edition with new colors! I was sucked in one again. I’m trying Spooky Bat, but it’s the only color I bought, I swear!

I remember what they were like, but the deep purple called to me. I mean, it couldn’t hurt to try again, right? At least that’s what I was telling myself as I was hovering over the Buy Now button. Obviously I clicked on it, but maybe it won’t be so bad. Maybe I could make it work!

I did not, in fact make it work. It started out strong, because it was very wet. Last time I tried, some colors were more dry than others, so I thought it was a good sign. I outlined my lips first just to give it a test run, and so far so good. I really like the color. It’s not too red so it doesn’t lean toward burgundy, but it’s not too light either.

Then it was time to fill in my lips. I didn’t think it would be perfect, but I thought maybe I could at least get one coat on. But then one coat turned into two, and two turned into three, and etc. I thought if I kept applying it in certain areas it wouldn’t look as patchy. Unfortunately, that seemed to have made it worse.

It made some areas darker than others, and I couldn’t do anything to fix it. I put my black Clarins lip oil on, because it’s pretty much clear. I thought it would mix  better together, but it didn’t. However, I really like it as a lip liner. 😂 It goes on perfectly for that. Since I’m in my lip liner and fall lippie era, I’m going to use it that way.

So technically, I did make it work! 🤭

Fenty Beauty swirl Gloss Bomb Swirl Twisted Lip Luminizer

I have the Fenty Beauty Swirl Gloss Bomb Swirl Twisted Lip Luminizer in Fu$$y Flex for the holidays. It’s a combination of the colors fu$$y and Fucsia Flex. They’re two colors that are flattering for all skin tones. Fussy is very light pink color and Fuchia Flex is a much darker pink.

I believe it’s the only one that has shimmer in it-at least more than Fussy. I’ve seen some creators mix it all up, and my anxiety would never! It gets mixed together every time you use it anyway, but I’m trying to hold it off for as long as possible.

I never said I make sense, haha.

Anyway, I added a NYX Cosmetics lip liner called Nectar last. I did it last instead of first, because I wanted to make sure I was going to use one with the same tone. I know any nude would have probably worked, but I never know how a new color is going to turn out to be on me. I mean, I had to try it first!

Conclusion

The Patrick Ta Barbie blush and lipgloss is adorable. I also love how versatile it is—you can use it as an eyeshadow for a pink look on your eyelids. I also couldn’t resist trying the CoverGirl Spooky Bat lip stain, even though I wasn’t a fan of their lip stains before. I loved the look of the deep purple shade, but unfortunately it was still patchy. Finally, the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Swirl is going to look very pretty for the holidays. I’m trying to keep the swirl as long as possible, but either way it’s still going to look good.
