Sephora’s Best Skin Ever Concealer

Does it give the best skin?

Good god this was so hard to try! While I was trying to film my phone decided to be a drama queen, and she’s an iPhone 15. She’s not even old!

Okay moving on. I tried Sephora’s Best Skin Ever Concealer in Y12, but I think I have to try it again. A lot of it dried while I was resisting the urge to run my phone over with my wheelchair.

Y12 was the only warm color I could find. Most of them were cool colors, so I wasn’t sure if this shade was going to match me. I think it did, but it’s not for people who need more warm toned shades. They’re mostly pink and orange-ish.

I tried the Best Skin Ever foundation a while ago, but I can’t remember why I didn’t like it. It’s usually because it makes me more oily, doesn’t have enough coverage, or emphasizes my texture. Every time I try a new foundation I need to have at least perform with two out of three of these qualities. My skin is stubborn (like me), so it’s not easy to find makeup products that actually work how it’s supposed to.

I noticed it took away some of my foundation. I was wearing Dior Backstage, but it’s not a full coverage foundation like I usually wear. It’s more like medium coverage on me. I added my Morphe setting spray, because it makes everything melt into my skin, then I applied my KimChi translucent powder, thank god.

It did look better after all that, but I still think I need to retry it.

Update: This concealer really blends in smoothly, but I think I need a lighter warm shade to brighten up my face. I think it’s too close to my natural skin color.

r.e.m.beauty Hypernova Satin Matte Blush

Will the color Sun Pop make my skin pop?

All the pink r.e.m. blushes were sold out, but that’s okay because I swear they’re all starting to look the same on me. I’ve been trying more neon and bright colors to see if they stand out more, and look a little different. Some do, some don’t. Either way, I was happy to try something different, which is why I tried sun pop.

There’s a lot of hype around these new blushes. After trying it, I have to admit, I think it’s okay. I know it’s really popular right now, so I went to Ulta to pick one up.

I bought Sun Pop which is a really pretty orange, but I think the e.l.f. Liquid Camo Blush in Gorg Orange is better. Maybe it’s my skin tone, because it wasn’t very orange on me. It did look lighter, and you can see the color better in natural light. But even then, it still looks mostly pink on me.

I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, but I don’t think it’s great either. It’s pretty mid. I think you can get something better in this shade from Milani or e.l.f.

I do have light to medium skin tone with textured skin, so I think this might be better for a fair toned person. It’s nice that it’s $20, and not too expensive. It didn’t emphasize any texture, but like I said, this makeup product performed like any average blush.

I hope I like the bronzer better. It looks like it’s going to be on sale at Ulta for the Semi-Annual Beauty Event (Bring 21 days of beauty back!), so I’m going to wait for it. I also really wanted to try a lip gloss, specifically the lavender one, but they were out of those too unfortunately. I don’t know what’s taken me so long considering, I’ve gone to Ulta a million times!

OleHenriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment

This smells amazing!

I finally found the OleHenriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment in 🍓🍨Strawberry Sorbet, and I love it! I’ve been trying to find it for a few weeks, but it’s been out of stock. I’m so happy I finally found one, I had a major case of fomo.

It smells SO good, and reminds me of the strawberry cream frappe from Starbucks. It definitely doesn’t smell like authentic strawberry, but it still smells so good.

I know this isn’t a lip oil, but I like the way this looks on me more than the new Summer Fridays lip oil. It’s just a really thin formula. When I’m reaching for one of my new lip products, I can see myself skipping Summer Fridays and going straight to OleHenriksen.

I still love the Summer Fridays butter lip balms. I’m just saying…I can’t see myself reaching for this new makeup product more than the OleHenriksen strawberry sorbet.

Conclusion

Each makeup product has its own qualities and benefits, but they’re not a one size fits all for everyone. Every makeup product is going to work different depending on the person and their skin. Sephora’s Best Skin Ever Concealer gives good coverage but only with one warm tone medium color, r.e.m.beautv Hypernova Satin Matte Blush adds a pop of color to the cheeks, but feels pretty average for a blush, and the OleHenriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment definitely smooths out the lines on my lips for a fuller and plumping look.
