Another week, equals more makeup to round up! Getting new lip products are always filled with excitement, experimentation, and sometimes a surprise. With so many choices finding those sold out lip products, like the Laneige Sleeping Mask in Cotton Candy or the perfect lip gloss can be exciting. Let’s go through my makeup reviews for this past week!

Laneige Sleeping Mask in Cotton Candy

I finally have the Laneige Sleeping Mask in Cotton Candy, because apparently I didn’t expect it to sell out. Don’t ask me why I thought that.

I love the blue and pink swirl, because it reminds me of Candyland. I’m probably not going to mix it up, because ruining it gives me anxiety. Plus I already have the purple gummy bear lip sleeping mask and lip gloss, so I’m not really interested in having another purple color. I want to keep this one pink and blue (I never said my anxiety is rational).

It doesn’t matter anyway because I don’t mix any of them (I know, I know), but I still use them every night, and they still work!

I ordered a larger lip applicator when Laneige announced they were releasing a new flavor. I may not mix it, but I still apply it. Plus it was weird when I tried the Trader Joe’s lip duo without something to scoop it out with. I love the acrylic handle it has, and it has a cap! They come in a pack of three. This would be perfect to throw in a small purse. I needed something I could actually hold, because the ones that comes with a Lineage sleeping masks are so tiny! They’re hard for me to hold so I found these on Amazon, and they’re perfect.

My favorite sleeping mask is caramel apple, but I think cotton candy is going to be my second favorite. I know most people love the OG berry sleeping mask, and I like it but I’ve never been known to be conventional either.

Sparkling Lip Gloss in Peach by Stunner Shades

So excited to try the Stunn Shine lip gloss by @shopstunnershades! As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed it. I love supporting small business, especially since my mom owns one. It takes a lot of your time and effort. It takes so much to be a successful entrepreneur.

Especially if your products are handmade. I bought the Sparkling Lip Gloss in Peach.  Not only are they handmade, but they’re cruelty free too, and very sparkly. They have the perfect amount of glitter. You can actually order light or heavy glitter. I actually don’t remember which one I ordered, but knowing me I had to have ordered the heavy glitter.

And I love the hot pink cap. I think she’s sold out right now, but follow @shopstunnshades to stay up to date on her restock!

Summer Fridays Lip Oil In Soft Mauve

I popped in Sephora hoping they restocked the Tower 28 lip balms (they haven’t, boo) BUT there was one Summer Fridays Lip Oil left in Soft Mauve! Now this is the first time I’ve actually seen a lot of 10-year-old girls in Sephora. I usually go during the week. I’ve seen a lot of girls in there with their mom, but they didn’t have their own baskets full of products. The way I rushed over to the shelf when one girl put hers back, let me tell you…

I never thought in my life I’d have to compete with little girls, haha. Anyway, I was really excited, and after waiting in a super long line and vowing to never go to Sephora on a Saturday again-I was ready to get out of there.

Soft Mauve is definitely a thinner formula compared to other lip oils, but it still has that smoothness to it. I might exchange it for the Dream Blush one (if I can) because soft mauve doesn’t have much pigment on me. I’m not spending this much money on a clear lip gloss.

And it’s not like I need another pink lip oil either, but I want it to at least look like I’m wearing something other than a clear color. It does have a little pigment, but It blends in too much with the color of my natural lips. This definitely isn’t meant for medium or dark skin tones.

Also, as I’ve been using it, it looks like there’s hardly any product in it! It looks half empty already. What’s up with that?

I’m unsure about the way it accentuates my dry lips. I didn’t even know I had dry lips! I use Laneige or Aquaphor every night, but apparently I need to exfoliate more. It feels weird when I rub my lips together, because it makes them prickly. I’m going to exfoliate and hope it makes a difference. Has anyone experienced this before? I’ve never had a lip product that makes my dead skin pop up like this. Weird.

Conclusion

From the swirls of the Laneige Sleeping Mask to the sparkling Stunner Shades Peach Lip Gloss, and the soft Summer Fridays Lip Oil-the textures, hues, and effectiveness are all going to be different for everyone. Each lip product brought its own surprises. As we try new things, we learn what makes us feel happy and confident.
